The Culver City Community Scholarship Program began in 1962 through the joint effort of the CCUSD Board of Education, Culver City High School and the Culver City community. It was a community effort to raise funds to promote the continued education of graduating seniors in Culver City . The scholarships can be used at a two-year college, four-year college or vocational training school. The funds are raised through pledges from individuals, PTAs, civic and business organizations.
In 1962–63, six (6) scholarships were awarded totaling $1,300. In June 2023, 172 students received scholarships totaling over $212,000!!
